Recruiting; Sous Chef for City Centre Venue



The White Horse Oyster & Seafood Bar is located on the busy Royal Mile, offering the best of British Seafood and Shellfish sourced from boutique suppliers across the country.

We offer candidates a full time permanent role on the excellent starting rate of 13.50 per hour / 33,500 per annum + Tips and Cash gratuities (approx 3-4 extra per hour) approx 10k per year, great work-life balance and the opportunity to develop their career within our business.

We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our team of chefs and are looking for a great candidate who wish to learn and develop professionally. Genuine opportunities for career progressions exist within this fast growing business.

The main duties of the role are

Ensuring the smooth delivery of food service and preparation within the kitchen Stock Rotation & keeping the kitchen organised Running their own section & working with high quality food Maintaining compliance checks in the Kitchen Documentation & Safe preparation of Allergens within the kitchen
Experience in 5Restaurants is preferable as is an eye for detail, the drive & ambition to improve the customer feedback & experience and food quality. Cooking from scratch experience only as we use the finest Scottish Ingredients to create satisfying flavour combinations to entice our customers back again & again.
For the role, the below soft skills are desirable;

Good at Communicating with others Hard working Responsible Team Player Excellent Leader
As well as having a professional experience in;

Running of a service in a busy fast paced kitchen All necessary knowledge in food preparation and cookery to prepare & execute high end fresh food Ordering, Par Levels & Stock Rotation Identification of allergens in dishes
Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent is also desirable but not essential as we believe in training and developing our employees and showing them the same commitment and respect to their careers that they show to us.
