Overview


We are a popular and busy 100 cover restaurant, open 7 days/week for lunch/dinner. Serving French cuisine. We are full during peak periods - sometimes 300 covers on weekend (lunch&dinner).

This is a relocation job (Pierre Victoire in Oxford), we would support with accommodation if you move to the city.

We are seeking a sous chef that is willing to be a soldier, leading the team from the front during our busy services and supporting head chef closely. We want you to take an active role in leading and defining the kitchen and menu plans and strategies.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, demonstrating expertise in food preparation and kitchen management. As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment -supporting the Head Chef.

Duties



Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations. Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current food trends while catering to customer preferences. Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to within the kitchen. Supervise food preparation processes, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish served. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain stock without over-ordering. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.

Skills



Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising kitchen staff. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Proven experience as a cook or chef within a restaurant environment. Exceptional culinary skills with a creative flair for menu development. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding dining experiences.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 40,000.00-52,000.00 per year
