Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen.
Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure that all food production meets health and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
Collaborate with other team members to create innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control.
