We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities, a commitment to hospitality, and a deep understanding of food production processes. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and maintaining a positive working environment.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation meets quality standards and is executed efficiently.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance and teamwork.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through effective food production practices.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Participate in the recruitment and training of new kitchen team members, fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends.
A passion for hospitality with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential.
