We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and preparation, along with strong leadership abilities to assist in managing kitchen operations. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food safety and quality while supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and recipes.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring it is in good working order.
Support the Head Chef in menu planning, costing, and budgeting.
Experience
Proven experience in food production and preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff.
In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
DBS needs to be on the update service.
