Job Description

The Crown Inn in St. Ewe are currently seeking a dedicated & talented Sous chef to join our small, yet bustling pub kitchen in a charming, rural area. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with our head-chef, providing crucial support & ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the head chef to prepare & deliver high-quality dishes using locally sourced produce. Assist in maintaining top health & hygiene standards within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Ensure timely preparation & delivery of meals during the head-chefs absence, covering their days off. Contribute to menu planning & suggest creative ideas to enhance our offerings, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients. Work efficiently & effectively within a fast-paced environment, whilst maintaining attention for detail to consistently deliver delicious meals. Assist in organising & maintaining inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation & minimal wastage. Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure seamless communication & smooth service delivery.
Requirements:

Proven experience working in a busy kitchen environment, preferably within a pub or restaurant setting. Excellent Knowledge of food safety regulations & procedures. Ability to work well under pressure & adapt to changing demands while maintaining a positive attitude. A flexible schedule, including evenings & weekends. Strong communication & teamwork skills. Reliable & punctual.
