Summary

We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Gelsmoor Restaurant. In this role, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Your culinary expertise will play a vital role in enhancing our guests' dining experience.

It is a full time permanent position working approximately 9 hours per day over 5 days (45 hours per week). You will have two consecutive days off each week.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations. Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety practices. Prepare and present dishes according to restaurant specifications. Collaborate with team members to create innovative menu items. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Passion for high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences.
