We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and a flair for creativity in food production. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality control and consistency in dishes served.
Manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimising waste.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices within the kitchen at all times.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly.
Assist in scheduling staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak service times.
Skills
Proven experience in a restaurant or culinary environment, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar role.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff supervision.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
