We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, demonstrating exceptional leadership and team management abilities. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while fostering a positive working environment.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service.
Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen operations.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting skill development and teamwork.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement new cooking techniques and improve existing processes.
Assist in managing kitchen schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak service times.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
