Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to culinary standards.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Help create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak service times.
Engage with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication regarding menu items and special requests.
Participate in food production during busy service periods, demonstrating hands-on leadership.
Experience
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment is essential.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in both food presentation and kitchen operations.
