Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in kitchen operations. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen activities, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation while maintaining a positive and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food production activities. Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain quality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement new recipes and improve existing ones. Handle customer feedback regarding food quality and service.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices. Excellent cooking skills with a focus on food preparation and presentation. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable. Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide kitchen staff. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
