The Role:
As sous Chef, you will be the driving force within our kitchen, overseeing all aspects of food preparation and service. You will be lead by our head chef, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards for quality, consistency, and presentation. You will support kitchen staff, maintain health and safety standards, create and refine menus, and ensure smooth kitchen operations along side the head chef. If you have a passion for food, leadership experience, and a flair for creating exceptional dishes and menus, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the head chef and the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operations during service.
- Design and update menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and staying ahead of culinary trends.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
- Monitor stock levels, manage ordering and inventory, and reduce food waste.
- Always show willing and have a desire to succeed and thrive within your role.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a positive, productive kitchen environment focused on teamwork and excellence.
Who We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP.
- A passion for cooking with a deep understanding of modern and traditional cooking techniques.
- Communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to upholding health and safety regulations.
- A creative flair, with a focus on high-quality presentation and seasonal menus.
- Knowledge of cost control and budgeting.
- Culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, Culinary Arts, or equivalent) are desirable.
