Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This position requires strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene practices. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and contributing to menu development.

Duties



Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring efficient workflow. Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with recipes and presentation standards. Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health regulations. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations. Monitor food quality during preparation and service to ensure consistency. Assist in managing kitchen schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak times.

Qualifications



Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality environment. Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Strong knowledge of food production techniques, food safety standards, and hygiene practices. Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes. Previous experience in menu planning and food preparation is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration within the kitchen.
