We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and level-headed individual to help lead our kitchen team. You will work closely with both the Senior and Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, manage staff, and ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation are being met by the junior team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in food preparation and experience working with high quality ingredients, have strong leadership skills, and a dedication to excellence in food preparation and dining experiences.

Responsibilities:



Assist the head chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and expediting to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of menu items Supervise the kitchen team, including line chefs, chef de partes, kitchen porters, and the junior sous, providing guidance, instruction, and support to maintain high performance and morale Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, menu specifications, and guest requests, maintaining consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards Follow and monitor prep schedules and the execution of prep to ensure ingredients are ready for service on time Assist in developing and refining menu items, contributing ideas for new dishes, specials, and promotions to enhance the dining experience and attract new guests Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation throughout the cooking process, conducting regular tastings and inspections to uphold standards and identify areas for improvement Coordinate with the kitchen team and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery, communicating special dietary requirements or modifications to ensure accuracy Assist in managing inventory levels, stock rotation, and ingredient usage to minimise waste, control costs, and ensure availability of ingredients for menu items Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen equipment, utensils, and work stations, following established cleaning procedures and food safety guidelines Mentor and train kitchen staff, providing guidance, instruction, and feedback to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and kitchen hygiene practices, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks promptly Address any operational issues or equipment malfunctions effectively, seeking solutions and implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain quality and service standards Assist in ordering ingredients for menu items, ensuring par levels are being met and the correct procedures are being followed regarding food safety Assist in plating and presenting dishes according to company standards, ensuring that each dish is visually appealing and meets guest expectations Work to instil a positive and cohesive relationship between junior and senior kitchen teams to ensure all important information is communicated and executed Assist in opening and closing the kitchen to high standards, ensuring cleanliness and presentation are upheld Take ownership of the success and failures of your team, leading by example and demonstrating integrity, transparency, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Pay: 31,000.00-34,000.00 per year
