We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety whilst in daily kitchen activities.
Duties
Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training new team members.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with health regulations.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Assist in creating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during service hours.
Engage with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Participate in cooking and food presentation during peak service times.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
Previous supervisory or team management experience is essential.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development.
