Sous Chef/Head Chef

Duties

Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes and presentation standards. Assist in food preparation and cooking, maintaining high-quality standards in all dishes served. Manage food production processes, including inventory control and stock management. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen environment. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team atmosphere. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure timely service during peak hours. Participate in menu planning, costing, and portion control to optimise profitability while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant setting, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar position. Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service. Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: 28,000.00-34,000.00 per year
