Join our team as a

Special Care Dentist

within the Integrated Primary and Community Care Group!


The Community Dental Service is part of the Integrated Primary and Community Care Group and is committed to the provision of an accessible, high quality and professional dental services by providing advice, treatment, disease prevention and health promotion to NHS patients in a community setting. Primary Care understands and respects the challenge of ensuring the most cost effective use of resources.


This rewarding clinical role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centred dental care to vulnerable adults and children who are unable to access routine general dental services. You'll work across a range of settings including dental clinics, general anaesthetic lists, and domiciliary environments providing both routine and urgent treatment, often under local anaesthetic, conscious sedation, or general anaesthesia.


You will be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of services, the promotion of oral health, and improvements in patient access. Your work will directly support those with complex needs, including individuals with learning disabilities, physical impairments, medical vulnerabilities, or severe dental anxiety.

Annual leave starting at 29 days and 10 Bank Holidays.

Our on-site education and training centre, Keyll Darree, comprises a lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state of the art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners.

We recognise the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom and encourage links with other units, as well as providing study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.
