Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Class Teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.
  • Support students with their social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help manage classroom behavior, implementing strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
  • Liaise with the Class Teacher, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and parents to monitor student progress and communicate effectively.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
  • Provide personal care and support to students as required, ensuring their well-being and dignity.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs.
  • A strong understanding of different SEN conditions (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia).
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
