The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled SENDCo to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure that children with special educational needs or disabilities receive the support and guidance they need to thrive. This is a key leadership position within the school, reporting directly to the Headteacher.
The SENDCo will be responsible for:
Strategic development of SEN policy and provision - overseeing provision for pupils with SEN or disabilities, ensuring policies and practices reflect best practice and national guidelines.
Day-to-day SEND provision management - maintaining an accurate SEND register, analysing assessment data, and coordinating interventions.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals - including educational psychologists, local authorities and specialist teachers.
Supporting pupils and their families - ensuring appropriate support plans are in place and communicating effectively with parents and carers.
Staff development and training - identifying training needs and leading CPD to enhance inclusive teaching across the school.

Person Specification
We are looking for a SENDCo who:
Holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or is willing to complete it within 3 years) and has QTS.
Has experience working at a whole-school level, contributing to school self-evaluation and development planning.
Possesses a deep knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and upcoming changes within SEND policy.
Has experience in leading CPD and training staff to improve SEND provision.
Is an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with staff, parents and external professionals.
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with an understanding of the additional vulnerabilities of pupils with SEND.
