We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partnered Primary School in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the school's dedicated SEN provision, providing 1:1 support to a student with Autism. The position is full time and long term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school is based in Newham and is well known for its inclusive ethos, excellent facilities, and ongoing professional development. They offer a supportive environment for both staff and students, with access to leading SEN training and career progression opportunities.

Applicants must have relevant personal or professional experience supporting students with Autism (ASD). The student you will be working with is non-verbal, so experience using communication tools such as PECS, Coreboards, Makaton, or communication devices will be highly beneficial. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working within an SEN setting, particularly with behaviour management, would also be an advantage.

This full time SEN Teaching Assistant position in Newham runs Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, and offers a long term opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey.

Daily Duties Include:



Providing 1:1 support for a student with Autism within the Primary School SEN provision Implementing individualised learning and communication strategies, including PECS, Coreboards, or Makaton Supporting the student's social, emotional, and behavioural development throughout the school day Assisting the class teacher and SENCO with planning and delivering tailored learning activities Encouraging engagement and participation through positive reinforcement and consistent support Monitoring progress and recording observations to support educational and developmental goals Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all students
