The Special Educator works with students who may have sensory impairments, emotional vulnerabilities, speech and language difficulties, specific learning challenges (such as dyslexia), autism, behavioural concerns, or a combination of these needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans or Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Write IEP goals and prepare termly progress reports for parents.
Teach individuals or small groups using differentiated, multi-sensory learning techniques.
Work closely with parents/carers, teachers, therapists, and assistant teachers to ensure consistent support between school and home.
Monitor and record students' progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
Use assistive technology, specialized equipment, and resources to enhance engagement and learning.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, their families, and staff
Requirements:
Degree in Special Education.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Special Educator.
Eligible for QCHP.
Data Flow verification report
Proven experience working with children with special needs in educational or therapeutic settings.
