Scholastic is the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, and we are looking for an exceptional Special Sales Accounts Manger to join our dynamic UK Sales Team, to work across a variety of non-book retail chains and online accounts.

Scholastic is proud to publish successful global brands including Dog Man, Horrible Histories, The Hunger Games, Pokemon and Tom Gates plus internationally renowned authors and illustrators such as Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Patrice Lawrence and Philip Pullman.

Our ideal candidate will be a confident communicator both externally and internally, proactively selling a fantastic range of books for children of all ages. You will also have the opportunity to develop and create custom products for your customers.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:



Account management and budget responsibilities of non-traditional accounts, major retailers and wholesalers, as well as book charities and subscription boxes. Negotiating profitable deals to approved margins. Proactively seeking out and opening new business accounts. Communicating account and sales information, presenting and sharing feedback from your accounts to the wider business. Analysing data to inform sales strategy in conjunction with your manager and the Trading Director. Liaising with internal publishing, editorial, design, production, and inventory teams. Managing special sales projects from concept to delivery, to ensure smooth process.
Strong presenting and negotiation skills will be key, along with a keen interest in the Children's book market and trends. You will need to be a numerate and highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail. Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to prioritise and use initiative to drive sales. Focusing on driving growth with existing accounts and developing new business with non-book retail chains and online customers.
