Edwards Diving Services are seeking to recruit full time Safe Access and Rescue Team members for an immediate start to join our growing team and work on a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in challenging environments -- both above and below ground, on water and at height -- and is passionate about safety, teamwork, and technical excellence.

Your role will be flexible, dynamically providing rescue and other safe access services (including boat, pontoon, PASMA and rope access) to support our in-house teams and customers directly.

The role will be based from our South Wales Head Office, near Cardiff.

Key responsibilities:

Perform confined space entry and rescue in a wide range of environments, complying with all relevant safety standards. Act as an integral member of our water safety and rescue team, ensuring the safety of engineers and personnel working near or on water. Take part in PASMA tower access operations across various locations. Operate boats and pontoons for water access, safety and rescue missions. Carry out rope access work, including high-angle rescues and specialist entry techniques. Support other teams (e.g. diving, civil engineering, inspections) as a reliable general/support operative. Undertake general construction, maintenance and installation tasks in locations where specialist access skills are required.

Essential Requirements

:

Comfortable working at height, underground, and in confined spaces (any existing or previous qualifications and experience in these areas will be highly beneficial). Full UK driving licence. Willingness and ability to travel and work across the UK, often in physically and mentally demanding environments. Ability to function as part of a disciplined, safety-conscious team. You will need to be highly resilient, working in challenging locations and conditions and remaining alert to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times. A safety-first mindset and strong teamworking abilities.

Desirable

:

Previous training or certification and working experience in any of the following: confined space entry and/or rescue, rope access (IRATA or similar), PASMA, water rescue, boat handling, first aid. Experience towing trailers on a standard UK car licence. General construction skills and use of small tools.
Salary and terms will be competitive and negotiable depending on the candidate. All EDS staff benefit from a competitive package including private healthcare and a stakeholder pension.
