The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Trust has a national and international reputation in Addiction and Co-Occurring Mental Health Alcohol and Drugs (COMHAD) treatment. The COMHAD team, as part of Addictions Plus, LYPFT, works alongside other partners that make up Forward Leeds, a CQC outstanding rated organisation.



Following OHID (Office for Health Improvement and Disparities) investment and expansion of the service an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist COMHAD Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will be joining a diverse and skilled team that consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Specialist Midwives.



The job role will include providing specialist addiction treatment, including psychosocial and pharmacological interventions, harm reduction, & risk management to service users with co-existing mental health and/or pregnancy needs. The LYPFT team is trauma-informed and offers a formulation driven, psychological model.



This is a fixed term position ending in February 2026.



The successful candidate will hold a caseload as well as delivering psychosocial interventions to service users and consultancy to support the wider service. Excellent training from both Forward Leeds and LYPFT, supervision in a variety of forms and support from an experienced team will be offered.



There are excellent specialist training opportunities and a focus on career development. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to facilitate specialist psychosocial group work and an involvement with service development.
