The RUH Bath NHS Foundation Trust provides acute treatment and care for a catchment population of around 500,000 people in Bath, and the surrounding towns and villages in North East Somerset and Western Wiltshire.
The Biochemistry department processes a high workload (around 4000 requests per day) and the laboratory is UKAS accredited. We operate a 24/7 service and staff are expected to support the out of hours service under Agenda for Change terms and conditions. There are a minimum of 2 BMS staff working in Biochemistry on every shift. The Biochemistry Department has a Beckman based Automation section (1xAU5812, 1xAU5822, 2xDXI800s and a full DxA track), Sebia electrophoresis equipment. The IT systems used at the RUH are Cirdan Ultra LIMS, Sunquest ICE, Cerner Millennium and QPulse. We are looking for someone who is keen to join the friendly and professional laboratory team as a band 6 BMS.
The successful candidate will be expected to have technical knowledge commensurate with this grade but also be able to maintain and progress quality initiatives with a flexible and innovative approach.
