The Children's Therapy Services identify, assess, support and manage the health needs of children and young people aged 0-18 years, working closely with children and their families in health settings and family homes; and with education colleagues in early years and school settings.
As a Specialist Children's Occupational Therapist you will manage your case load independently and carry out a range of therapeutic activities. You will offer clinical expertise and use your knowledge to provide professional care, treatment, advice, guidance and support to children and young people with complex needs.
This role is based in Weston-Super-Mare however you may be expected to attend training and provide cover across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
To offer clinical expertise within a specified clinical area.
To manage and carry own case load within a specified clinical area.
To provide a safe, client centred, effective and evidence-based therapy service in the community setting
To work within the Children's Service to deliver clinical activities, supported by a robust competency framework, to children within their own home and other settings such as school/ early years or a clinical environment
To be part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team (MDT), which may include Paediatricians, Orthotists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Physiotherapists.
