We are in search of a forward thinking and dynamic Band 7 Occupational Therapy - Team Lead to join our Children's Community Therapy team.
As a Band 7 Children's Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for providing a specialist and comprehensive Occupational Therapy service for children 0-18 years and their families, who have a Herefordshire GP.
The post holder will clinically lead and provide the direct delivery of highly specialist assessment and intervention of children and young people as part of the Occupational Therapy Team, demonstrating a high level of clinical autonomy. Developing the role of highly specialist Occupational Therapist with mixed caseload focusing on the Occupational Performance area of the service. Taking an active clinical role in the delivery of an evidence based paediatric service, including the day to day management of the Children's Occupational Therapy Team.
To actively participate in the continued development of the balanced system transformation work streams across children's therapies and the wider system.
This role is a mix of having your own clinical caseload and providing leadership and management of the Occupational Therapists and support staff within the team.
Whilst working as an autonomous practitioner in the community, within the county of Herefordshire, plan and organise own caseload according to the needs of the children and the service. To provide highly specialist clinical support and supervision to the team.
To use evidence based standardised and non-standardised assessment tools with children, including observations in the most appropriate settings for the child/young person, in order to establish levels of functional ability and disability and to inform your practice and intervention.
To agree child focused aims, goals and objectives for all OT intervention.
To design individual therapeutic treatment plans, for children to be carried out either by you or delegated to Occupational Therapy support workers, families, carers or school staff. These interventions will take place in the most relevant environment for the child and their family - the home environment, therapy suite or schools.
