We are seeking an experienced and motivated Specialist Clinical Coder to join our dynamic Clinical Coding Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

This role follows a hybrid working model. Onsite presence is expected as and when business needs require (typically 1 or 2 days per week) to support collaboration, knowledge sharing and consistency as the department continues its transformation.

As a Specialist Clinical Coder, you will:

accurately abstract, analyse, and assign complex diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications



work closely with clinical teams to validate and enhance the quality of coded data



take the lead on specific specialties and complex coding scenarios



act as a mentor to junior coders and support their development



contribute to clinical engagement, KPI monitoring, audit preparation and data quality improvement

The Clinical Coding Department at Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust is a vital part of our healthcare system. We are responsible for accurately translating patient information into codes that are used for billing, research, and planning purposes. Our work directly impacts the Trust's ability to recover income and plan services effectively.
