Please note this advert may close early if we receive a high volume of applications.An exciting opportunity has arisen to continue our Specialist Clinical Fellow Programme to replace our current Fellows. The County Hospital in Hereford, part of the Wye Valley NHS Trust is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The constantly evolving and dynamic urology department is looking for a motivated middle grade to support current and newly developed services.The Urology department is a cohesive and harmonious team consisting of four consultants, a deanery appointed SpR, five urology CNS's 3 Senior Clinical Fellows along with a Clinical Education Fellow. A wide range of urological services are offered including oncology, functional urology and stone services. The successful candidate will be involved in supporting clinics, flexible cystoscopy and theatres in addition to an on-call rota.The post is ideal for candidates looking to enhance their urological experience and CV, especially if considering an application for a National Training Number as the post offers protected theatre and research/audit time.Main duties of the jobThe post is based at Wye Valley NHS Trust Hospital, General Surgical Directorate working with the Urology team. On-call commitments are yet to be finalised but will be time working compliant and notexcessive. The post holder would be expected to attend outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, ward rounds, to participate in the daily management of patients including paperwork.Where there is a requirement for weekend or premium time working there will be consideration of the impact on the routine delivery within the job plan.About usWye Valley NHS Trust is a member of an NHS Foundation Group with South Warwickshire NHS FT , the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.Worcestershire is our neighbouring county. Education & Qualifications
Essential

  • Full doctors registration with GMC Licence to Practise
  • MBChB or equivalent
  • Minimum 12 months NHS experience working as a doctor

  • MRCS
Training
Essential
  • Completion of Core Surgical Training with at least 4 months Urology experience
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
  • Clinical experience and competencies commensurate with those detailed in the 'New Doctor' (GMC)
Desirable
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience of teaching in a simulation environment
Communication and Language Skills

  • Ability communicate well both written and orally
