RASASC is a leading provider of support for people who have experienced sexual violence, and we are looking to recruit a counsellor who is committed to working within this field and who wants to make a difference to the lives of those affected by trauma. We offer excellent terms and conditions with a 35 hour full time working week, 28 days leave per year plus bank holidays, a pension and EAP scheme as well as training and development opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our team of Specialist Therapists to provide trauma informed therapy to adults and adolescents over the age of 13 who have experienced sexual violence. The position will be based within our Macclesfield office.
Essential Skills:
Recognised professional qualification to Post Graduate Diploma level
Eligible for Accreditation with BACP or equivalent governing body
Experience of working therapeutically with trauma/survivors of sexual violence
A clear understanding of the effects of sexual violence
Experience of providing trauma focused interventions
Experience of providing time limited counselling
Understanding of and ability to provide psychoeducation & coping techniques
Ability to assess for risk and formulate treatment plans
Experience of working with adolescents
Evidence of continued professional development
Strong organisational and administrative skills
A good level of IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft 365
Desirable Skills:
Additional qualification in EMDR/CBT/Trauma Focused Therapy
Experience of working therapeutically with children
