Overview



We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated

Specialist Dementia Nurse

to join our core clinical team. This pivotal role suits someone who thrives on delivering holistic, person?centred dementia care and who can empower families and staff alike.

Responsibilities



Deliver expert, person?centred dementia care, tailoring care plans to each resident's cognitive needs and condition progression Provide emotional and psychological support - offering coping strategies to residents and families to preserve independence, dignity, and well?being Administer medication and monitor physical health in line with clinical guidelines Educate, mentor, and support care staff to integrate best?practice dementia care techniques Support families and caregivers through effective communication, practical advice, and emotional reassurance Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, adjust risk?management plans, and update care documentation Lead care?coordination efforts in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive, holistic support Champion dignified, empathetic care within a calm and supportive home environment Maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to audit processes, and support continuous quality improvements

What We're Looking For



Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse with specialist dementia care experience or training Advanced clinical skills in dementia management, including emotional and psychological care Able to develop and implement person?centred care plans, adapting to evolving needs Strong communicator with the ability to empower families and educate colleagues Leadership and mentoring experience, comfortable coaching staff in best practice Caring, patient, and resilient under pressure Reliable transport to commute to Burley Enhanced DBS check (we'll help arrange this)
