About the role:

As a Specialist Employment Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in helping people with learning disabilities to overcome barriers, discover their strengths, and secure real jobs with real pay. Using a person-centred, 5-stage Supported Employment model, you'll guide people from first contact through to long-term workplace success.
This is a full-time, in-person role with flexibility to meet the needs of those you support. The role is based in our Prestatyn office but involves substantial travel across both counties. You'll be part of a passionate, values-driven team that's committed to creating a more inclusive workforce across a wide range of sectors in Denbighshire and Conwy.
Key responsibilities:
Champion individuals by managing a caseload, offering tailored 1:1 and group support to build skills, confidence, and career aspirations.
Deliver practical skills training - from CV writing and interview prep to job searching and digital literacy - giving participants the tools they need to succeed.
Engage with employers, building strong relationships with local businesses, job carving where needed, and promoting the benefits of inclusive hiring.
Provide workplace coaching, supporting both employees and employers to ensure successful and sustainable placements.
Collaborate with partners by attending commissioner meetings, delivering presentations/workshops, and representing the project at community events.
Track progress by maintaining accurate records, meeting KPIs, and using data to evidence impact.
What we're looking for:
Experience
- Experience in supported employment, careers development, or a related role is an advantage. We also welcome transferable experience in areas such as employer engagement, data management, mentoring, delivering presentations/workshops, networking, or supporting people to reach their potential.
Knowledge
- Awareness of the barriers faced by disabled jobseekers, with practical strategies to overcome them. Good knowledge of the local labour market across Conwy and Denbighshire.
Skills
- Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Practicalities
- A valid driving licence and the ability to travel across Denbighshire and Conwy.
Qualities
- Creative, person-centred, persistent, and passionate about equality with a willingness to learn and grow as the project evolves.
