Are you an experienced electrical engineer looking to step into a technically challenging role with wide-ranging influence?
We're looking for a Specialist Electrical Engineer to join our CRP Engineering team. This role plays a key part in driving the reliability, safety and efficiency of our electrical systems - and is well-suited to someone who combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership, planning and compliance capability.
What you will do:
As a key member of the CRP engineering team, you'll take the lead on strategic electrical maintenance and engineering activity across site, acting as a subject matter expert for both project and operational requirements. You'll work closely with other disciplines to ensure electrical compliance and integrity are maintained across plant areas and systems.
As the Specialist Electrical Engineer, you'll act as the technical lead for both high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems, supporting complex fault-finding and system enhancements. You'll provide guidance to engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring all work complies with business processes, site standards, and statutory obligations. Ideally, you'll have experience working with HV networks up to 11kV, protection systems, harmonic filtering, LV interconnected systems, and DC systems.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Managing and delivering both planned and unplanned electrical engineering work
Developing maintenance strategies and leading failure investigations
Acting as a compliance owner for electrical safety standards and systems
Supporting development and training of electrical craft and shift teams
Liaising with external contractors and suppliers as required
Maintaining technical documentation and supporting asset improvement planning
Leading or supporting the delivery of improvement projects or small capital works
Playing a key role in reliability initiatives and root cause problem solving
You'll act as a technical lead on complex faults and system enhancements, providing guidance to engineering and maintenance teams while ensuring compliance with business processes, site standards and statutory obligations.
What you will need:
You'll need a strong foundation in electrical engineering with the ability to work independently and deliver results in a high-risk environment.
We're looking for:
A degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting
A strong understanding of electrical regulations, safety rules (e.g. EAWR), and permit systems
Experience with high voltage and low voltage equipment, fault finding and protection systems
A proactive, analytical mindset and confidence leading compliance activity
Strong communication and influencing skills across disciplines and levels
Knowledge of SAP PM, network infrastructure, or relevant ISO/COMAH standards would be beneficial.
