To provide clinical leadership and expert psychiatric skills in the care of the older adult population of Ceredigion and to direct the care of those admitted to the Older Adult Mental Health ward on site. The post holder will work autonomously in the main but will be able to draw upon advice and support from Consultant colleagues and will have a named Responsible Clinician for detained patients.
To provide:
Expert senior clinical decision making
Clinical leadership for both community and in patient teams
Supervision of resident medical staff
Support of trainee advanced and non-medical practitioners
Teaching on ad hoc and formal basis
A regular weekly presence in ward and community team meetings
A regular schedule of outpatient clinics and home visits
A collaborative approach with our supportive senior management colleagues

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
