An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Health Visiting Team at the Child Development Centre in Ipswich, to be part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting children under 5 years with additional needs, and their families.
The role will involve observation and assessment of children in a variety of settings including Early Years, clinic and home, feeding back to the multidisciplinary team with verbal and written reports to support the diagnostic process. You will also work closely with families in their own home offering advice and strategies and participate in workshops and parenting programmes with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Experience of working with children who have additional needs would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will be part of the Specialist Health Visiting Team and work as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) which includes Community Paediatricians, Therapy and Psychology colleagues.
You will need to be confident in feeding back verbally to the MDT and be able to contribute to written reports.
A large proportion of the role is working directly with families, supporting with behaviour, offering advice and support with strategies. This includes face to face sessions in the home and group workshops either in person or virtually.
Experience of working with children who have additional needs and safeguarding knowledge will be beneficial.
The candidate will be supported in their role by a Specialist Health Visitor.

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete "on call" duties within their role.
