Specialist Occupational Therapist Acute Stroke And Neurology

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 OT to join our friendly and experienced therapy team rotating between the Acute Stroke Unit and one of the country's few dedicated Neurology wards.



The acute neuro service provides ongoing assessment and rehabilitation for patients with complex trauma needs and other varied neurological conditions while t he Acute Stroke Unit provides hyperacute and acute care to stroke patients admitted to the RUH.



You will be part of the RUH's progressive and friendly integrated therapies department, where there is a culture of promoting learning and staff and service development.

To rotate between Acute Stroke and Neurology teams providing comprehensive, specialist OT assessments and interventions tailored to patient's individual needs.

To independently manage a complex clinical caseload independently, while collaborating effectively within the multidisciplinary team.



Lead on discharge planning, liaising with families, carers, community services, and other healthcare professionals.



Provide supervision and support to allocated Band 5 OTs, Band 3 and 4 Therapy Support Workers and students.
