Job Description

Main responsibilities are to undertake assessment and treatment of children attending Great North Children's Hospital as well as children living in Newcastle and attending mainstream schools. Undertakes a highly specialised role in advanced assessment, planning and implementing equipment for children with a range of disabilities who may have complex and/or chronic presentations . Is responsible for planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy service within their own area. Maintains records and writes reports as an autonomous practitioner.

To work closely with parents, educational staff, social services, voluntary carers and other relevant professionals to co-ordinate and support the delivery of treatments and services to children. To provide statutory reports for children with special education needs.
