You will play a vital role in supporting:



Admission avoidance, by providing timely interventions in the community.



Early discharge, enabling patients to return home safely with the right rehabilitation plans.



Rehabilitation at home, working with patients, families, and professionals to promote independence.



This community-based role offers the chance to work across diverse settings, providing variety and scope for professional growth.



We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who:



Has strong clinical reasoning skills in rehabilitation and community-based care.



Is confident working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.



Demonstrates excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills.

The post holder will provide a specialist Occupational Therapy Service for Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB), responsible for:



Managing a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan implement and evaluate interventions.



Provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal.



Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects.



Contribute to the maintenance and development of Powys Teaching Health Board Occupational Therapy Service.



Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.



Deputise for Team Leader when necessary.



Work flexibly across locality and participate in the 7-day rota to meet the service needs



Allocate work to support staff, at all times monitoring their skills and competencies.
