Job Description

The post holder will work alongside colleagues within the MDT to provide evidence-based treatment to the young people and families throughout Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County who present with a significant eating disorder. The MDT meet on a weekly basis to consider all referrals into the team; discuss assessments and for complex case discussion, of which the post holder will contribute to this and bring their knowledge and expertise to support the team processes and reflections.



You will offer specialist assessment and treatment for young people who present with a significant eating disorder. You will provide liaison, consultation and support to other agencies and work closely with our partners in paediatrics, inpatient/wider CAMHS. You will be supported to take on a leadership role to ensure service development and provide leadership cover when required to support the service lead. You will offer support and supervision to more junior colleagues, students, and trainees.

To provide a high quality occupational therapy service to children and young people as part of the MDT within the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.



To carry out assessment of occupational performance needs, and develop holistic, person centered programmes of meaningful activity to promote independence and integration, through goal setting and evaluating treatment programmes for children and young people with complex needs in conjunction with the individual, their family and carers and the multi-disciplinary team.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is 26.40 (standard) or 54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.



You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of 16 per year applies.



Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.



Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
