Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist Neurotechnology Lead

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic paediatric physiotherapist with excellent clinical and communication skills, who has an interest in the role of neurotechnology in rehabilitation. This new role will be based at Chedington in Dorset, predominantly working with paediatrics, but also with the chance to work alongside experienced neurological and spinal cord injury physiotherapists to to assist with the adult service and develop a skill set in that area. Part of your role will be to build your knowledge of neurotechnology and its application within the paediatric client group, taking a lead on developing new technology pathways within the paediatric service and embedding this within clinical practice. Duties and Responsibilities To be an autonomous physiotherapy practitioner demonstrating a high standard of assessment and clinical skills and knowledge, including postural management, specialist handling techniques, exercise and hydrotherapy.



Create and provide one-to-one and group physiotherapy intervention to patients with acquired physical and learning impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and treatment options. Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession. To use effective communication with the child, young person and their family to understand their expectations and develop patient centered goals. Evaluate patients progress using published outcome measures.



Maintain up to date and accurate clinical notes. To write high quality clinical reports and to provide recommendations in clinical provision, such as for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and case managed clients. To work within a multi-disciplinary team, communicating with a wide range of clients, families, educational and health professionals. Attend and contribute to multi professional and family meetings, such as annual reviews, both face-to-face and via video.



Liaise regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team.. Explore and develop local and Hobbs-wide clinical pathways to enhance the integration of paediatric-specific neurotechnology into rehab services. Potential to undertake or be involved in clinical trials with support from the wider MiNT team. To be responsible for providing input to local training both in the development and/or delivery as required.



To actively participate in Hobbs training and education programs. To support the wider Hobbs team and provide physiotherapy cover at other sites if required This job summary gives a general outline of the post. It is not an exhaustive list of duties.
