Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

We have a vacancy for a skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist, either full or part-time, to join our dedicated and supportive inter-disciplinary team, who support the best outcomes for the students through holistic and integrated programmes. You will work alongside another Speech and language Therapist in addition to a Speech and Language Therapy assistant and school staff implementing 1:1 and group SLT input. You will provide a range of intervention including individual and group therapy sessions, support and train parents and staff along with universal level provision. You will be offered relevant training, support and supervision. The main focus of the role will be to assess and support the students holistic communication needs, facilitating in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupils, ensuring they make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
The role will involve:
Managing a caseload and work with autonomy and independence.
Participating as an active member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
Undertaking appropriate formal and informal assessment, with a focus on the holistic needs of the student.
Providing therapeutic interventions independently for a range of Speech and Language related difficulties including, but not exclusive to: Developmental Language Disorder, Autism, Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder, Phonological disorders, Dyspraxia, and Stammering.
The successful candidate will:
Have a SaLT degree/Qualification.
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
MRCSLT Registration
Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Good assessment & organisational skills
Experience of health & social care policy / local & national agendas as they relate to disabled people
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Passionate about supporting children with communication difficulties.
