Key duties and responsibilities:
This post is subject to the current Conditions of Service for School Teachers in England and Wales and is in accordance with range of duties set out in that document relevant to the post holder's title and salary grade.
1. Assist in the planning and delivery of PE lessons under the guidance of teaching staff.
2. Lead small group and 1:1 physical activity intervention to support students experiencing emotional or behavioural dysregulation.
3. Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to identify students who would benefit from physical regulation activities.
4. Provide timely, calm, and safe support to students requiring immediate physical outlets during times of emotional distress.
5. Promote positive attitudes to physical health and emotional wellbeing across the school.
6. Ensure the safe use and maintenance of sports and intervention equipment.
7. Record and report on student progress, participation, and behavioural outcomes following interventions.
8. Contribute to the development of personalised support plans in collaboration with pastoral, SEND, and teaching staff.
9. Always uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies, maintaining a safe environment for all students.
10. Attend relevant training and staff development sessions to support the role and wider school priorities.

EXPERIENCE
Experience working as part of a high performing team.
Experience of working independently following direction and also using initiative as well as working collaboratively within a team.
Desirable
Have experience of being a Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting.
Delivering sport sessions to students with SEN needs.
Experience of delivering whole groups, small group or 1:1 teaching/ coaching.
Previous knowledge or experience of working within a positive behaviour support framework such as Team Teach or PROACT SCIP.
Evidence of successful work with disaffected and/ or emotionally vulnerable students.
Experience monitoring and assessing pupil progress
