Please see below for detailed job description of the role.
Main duties of the job
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our expanding Technical Services team during a transformative period. This is a pivotal time to become part of our friendly, forward-thinking department as we transition to a brand-new, state-of-the-art cleanroom facility and move towards becoming a licensed GMP Specials manufacturing unit.
Our current Technical Services Unit (TSU) operates under Section 10 exemption and provides a vital Centralised Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS) and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) service, supplying safe, high-quality aseptic products to neonatal, paediatric, and adult patients across University Hospital Southampton (UHS).
With the new off-site aseptic preparation hub set to open in 2025, we are undergoing significant expansion, creating exciting opportunities for professional growth and development. You'll be joining a dynamic team of dedicated staff and will play a key role in the implementation of new processes, quality improvements, and service developments in line with Good Manufacturing Practice.
We are committed to supporting your career with extensive training, continuous professional development opportunities, and a clear pathway for progression within aseptic services and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Whether you're an experienced technical services pharmacist or looking to take the next step in your career, we'll provide the support and mentorship you need to thrive.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
At UHS we're committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.
At UHS, we proudly champion individuality, recognizing that outstanding care is only possible with a diverse, inclusive team.
