A unique opportunity has arisen to join us as a specialist pharmacist, working 3 days a week in the paediatric team and 2 days a week in the adult neurosciences team.Our band 7 pharmacist roles allow you to build on your foundation knowledge and move into highly specialist areas

Main duties of the job
1. Liaison with the directorate pharmacy team lead and the rest of multi-disciplinary team to ensure adherence to guidelines and new product reviews.
2. To identify, review and implement processes, policy and procedure that significantly improve the cost-effective use of medication within the clinical area based.
3. To provide a comprehensive medication review and clinical pharmacy service to the neurosciences and paediatric clinical areas
4. To work closely with the directorate pharmacy team lead for neurosciences and the directorate pharmacy team lead for paediatrics
5. To ensure accurate patient medication records are updated and maintained.
6. To be responsible for monitoring prescribing and drug expenditure, providing regular evaluated management reports and giving advice on cost containment.
7. To work with the neurosciences and paediatrics clinical pharmacy teams to support the pharmacy developments already started and to agree priorities.
8. To support the development, implementation and management of givinostat and vamarolone for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy via homecare and outpatient setting.

  • Masters Degre (4 Year MPharm or equivalent) in Pharmacy
  • Registered as pharmacist with the GPhC
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice and due to complete the diploma, or equivalent external credentialling via CPPE/ RPS
Desirable
  • Post Graduate Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice or experience/ qualification/ credentialling deemed equivalent.
  • Independent Prescriber
  • Completion of formal Leadership program
