Moulton College is seeking a dedicated Specialist SEMH Lecturer to join our Foundation Learning team and help shape the future for learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your duties
You will:

• Deliver tailored teaching and support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across various course formats, ensuring high engagement and differentiated learning.
• Plan and implement Functional Skills and personalised programmes, adapting strategies to meet the behavioural, emotional, and social challenges of learners.
• Collaborate with SEND and Safeguarding Teams to ensure appropriate support arrangements, including exam access and pastoral care, are in place.
• Create and maintain inclusive, trauma-informed learning environments, using restorative and therapeutic approaches to support emotional regulation and resilience.
• Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring robust support for vulnerable learners and promoting a safe and positive college culture.

Person specification
The successful candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

• A minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and a strong commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
• Experience working with post-16 students and in similar roles, with a proven ability to motivate learners and deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate effectively to students and support them in achieving successful outcomes.
• Personal attributes such as flexibility, creativity, teamwork, and the ability to inspire and adapt to change, especially in supporting learners with SEMH needs.
