Are you skilled at working with children who have motor skill difficulties, physical disabilities and/or complex needs?
This inclusive authority is looking for a Specialist SEND Practitioner (SSP) to work with children with a range of motor skill difficulties, physical disabilities and/or complex needs of in schools and settings across Blackburn with Darwen
You will have experience of working in schools/ settings with children with a range of motor skill difficulties, physical disabilities and/or complex needs. You will be confident in working on your own initiative as you will have a significant amount of responsibility for planning and delivering interventions. While most of your work is likely to be with children in the Early Years, the Complex Needs team works with children through to High School and there will be opportunities to work across the full age range.
The Early Years and Complex Needs teams are creative, caring and hard-working staff. There are 2 Lead Teachers, 8 Advisory Teachers and 30 Specialist Support Assistants.
You will join the SEND Support Service, a team of highly regarded and experienced professionals, dedicated to overcoming the barriers to inclusion for children with a range of SEND.
We are looking for a practitioner who:
will work flexibly carrying out assessments, providing advice, and delivering interventions to improve children's access to education
enjoys collaborative working with families, settings and professionals across a range of services and
can produce high quality written reports required for panels and meetings
