Position Overview
The
Specialist Services Team Leader
is responsible for leading and coordinating a team of specialist cleaning operatives to deliver a range of high-quality cleaning services -- including
deep cleaning, window cleaning, and pressure washing
.
You will ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client requirements and Health & Safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and support a team of specialist cleaning operatives across various service areas.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily cleaning operations, including:
Internal and external
window cleaning
(traditional and water-fed pole systems)
Pressure washing
of exteriors, pavements, and hard surfaces
High-level cleaning
using MEWPs, scaffold towers, or rope access (where qualified)
Deep cleaning
, floor care, and post-construction cleaning
Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety standards, including the use of risk assessments and method statements.
Train, mentor, and coach team members on correct techniques, safe equipment use, and PPE compliance.
Conduct regular
site audits and quality checks
to maintain service standards.
Communicate effectively with site management and clients to coordinate access, resolve issues, and ensure smooth service delivery.
Monitor stock levels and oversee the maintenance and reporting of tools and equipment.
Complete all required documentation -- including timesheets, work logs, and incident reports.
Support the mobilisation of new contracts and assist with quoting or estimating work as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices, including
COSHH
, working at height, and manual handling procedures.
Competent in the use of specialist cleaning equipment (MEWPs, pressure washers, water-fed poles, floor care machines).
Ability to instruct and guide others in safe and effective use of equipment.
Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts.
Ability to travel to various client sites as required.
Experience & Qualifications:
Proven hands-on experience in specialist cleaning services, including:
Window cleaning
Pressure washing
High-level or access-based cleaning techniques
Previous supervisory experience within facilities management or cleaning services.
Valid
driving licence
(required).
Relevant
Health & Safety certifications
(e.g., IPAF, PASMA, CSCS) desirable but not essential.
