Job Description

We're looking for a Specialist Social Worker to join our team in Belfast Hospice.

As a Social Worker in the Allied Health Professional Team at Marie Curie Belfast Hospice, you'll provide holistic support to patients and families facing life-limiting conditions. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver psychosocial assessments, bereavement support, and discharge planning, ensuring care is responsive and compassionate. The role also contributes to education, audit, and mentoring student social workers.



Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) 37,338 - 44,962 pro rata per annum + enhancements

What we're looking for:

Degree in Social Work and registration with a relevant professional body. Completion of Assessed Year in Employment (AYE) preferred. Experience supporting individuals with terminal or life-limiting illness. Knowledge of palliative care, bereavement, and loss. Counselling skills or bereavement support experience (desirable). Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
