We have 0.6WTE vacancy for a Paediatric Specialist Speech & Language Therapist in Barking & Dagenham in NE London in the Deafness Pathway. We provide a range of CPD through whole-team training, away days and individual training. You will join monthly team meetings and will be invited to integrated children's services meetings. We also have regular team socials and bring and share lunches. We are a flexible service with options for compressed hours and working in a way that suits the needs of the service and yourself.
We welcome applicants from all experienced and motivated therapists even if you do not feel that you meet all of the job criteria. Support to develop will be provided.
To contribute to the provision of Speech and Language Therapy clinical care pathways across Barking and Dagenham.
To independently organise, plan and prioritise your own workload, and that of more junior and assistant staff.
To deliver comprehensive formal and informal assessment as appropriate and make differential diagnosis on the basis of assessment findings.
To develop evidence-based intervention programmes, adapt and facilitate therapy according to client centred needs.
To provide specialist knowledge, advice, training and teaching to parents, carers, students and the Speech and Language Therapy team.
To work closely with clients, carers, families and school staff to embed inclusive speech, language and communication practice across settings.
To provide mentoring of colleagues and peer support.
To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working to ensure co-ordinated service provision.
To attend relevant training courses, meetings and special interest groups related to your specialism in order to maintain skills and knowledge required of a Speech and Language Therapist working in the field of paediatrics.
