Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your skills as a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist? We have an exciting Band 6 opportunity for 0.8wte within our supportive school-aged services team. The post holder will work within school-aged services across both Conwy and Denbighshire. Clinical sessions to be agreed on appointment depending on current service needs. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role.



The successful candidate will have:



Strong clinical skills and experience in assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of communication needs, particularly speech and language disorders.

Experience of working with children in school-based settings.

Experience in planning and delivering training

Excellent analytical and communication skills, including negotiation, problem solving and planning

Excellent time management, organisation and caseload management skills

Experience of supporting non-qualified staff, including Speech and Language Therapy assistants.

An ability to build a strong rapport and work effectively with colleagues.



The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post



You will work with Team Leaders and colleagues in school-aged Speech and Language Therapy services to ensure equity, efficiency and dynamic service delivery.



You will work with a varied Paediatric caseload, working with school-aged children, in a range of settings including Primary and Secondary mainstream schools and Specialist Settings including ALN.



You will be responsible for assessing, and designing intervention for children on your caseload.



You will have the opportunity to work directly with children and young people as well as provide training, advice and support to school staff and the wider workforce.



You will work in partnership with families and professionals to support the needs of the children on your caseload.



You will be involved in projects which contribute to service development.



You will offer support to colleagues and partner agencies to develop knowledge and skills in working with children with speech and language disorders.
